   Welcome to my website, my name is Eva.  I am Plant-Based Nutrition Coach. Like many, I have followed an omnivore diet most of my life. As I growing up in the Mediterranean, my diet consisted mainly of salads, fish, cold-cut meats and lots of dairy. It came apparent to me these foods were having a negative impact on my health, as I suffered terrible headaches and irregularity. Sound familiar?  Once I had children, I took a closer look and realized the direct impact that food had on their health. 

We live in a society that offers quick fixes and medication over finding the cause and healing the problem with nutrition.

Sometimes medication is needed in moderation and for specific issues. I had the habit of grabbing a painkiller when I had a headache but have learnt that this can also been a sign of dehydration and a simple glass of water could alleviate it.

Another example is when your child has a fever. Do you rush to give them an antipyretic to bring the fever down? A fever is an immune response of our body to a foreign invader, in which our body is trying to destroy the bacteria or virus by bringing the temperature up, activating the Immune system.

Much to learn from Ancient Knowledge

Over 2000 years ago, Hippocrates, “father of medicine”, explained the importance of food on our health. His quote: “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food” emphasizes the importance of nutrition to prevent and cure disease. 

Things have changed since Hippocrates but not necessarily for the better. Our foods are now sprayed with pesticides, our livestock live in cages, and we find quick frozen processed foods in every aisle at the supermarket. 

Why a Plant-Based Diet

Research shows that a plant-based diet can treat and prevent autoimmune diseases. Following this plan will help to improve digestion, boost energy and regulate bowel movements. It is also affective for losing weight without counting calories or macros. A Plant-Based Diet is rich in fibre and helps our gut to keep in our good bacteria in order. Research also shows that bacteria overgrowth in our gut can effect mood, stress level, anxiety, brain fog, and more.
